Learning from DeDiva's Slur Against Filipinas

A racist slur or discrimination can create anger, or hatred which may escalate into widespread untoward reaction or action.

How a demeaning comment has started or formed in the mind? And how to reform this mindset so that it will not do harm to anyone and also to the self as the consequence?

Basically, it started from Devina DeDiva's specific experience with Filipina maids that have unwanted smells who did clean their toilets. From this specific experience she made a generalization out of it. Why so? It is her way of grabbing the attention of the world. I should say that DeDiva is hungry for fame. Since she cannot be a beauty queen in a renown pageant and will never be, she made her way up to the top by making a racist slur, a funny and derogatory comment to the big win of a Filipina Megan Young in the Miss World 2013. To quote DeDiva, " Miss Philippines is Miss World? What a joke? I didn t know those maids have anything else in them. Ha ha ha. They r poor, smelly from cleaning toilets and uneducated... " She was succesful in getting the attention of the netizens but she got ostracised. DeDiva has a crab-mentality which not only happens among Filipinos but also to people who envies fame or fortune.

At this moment Dediva becomes jobless and is afraid to go out to the street. Since racist slur is harmful and will not do any good, what DeDiva must do instead?

Here is my unsolicited suggestions. She must learn contentment of what she does have. She must not do beyond greed of attention. Second, she must learn to have a good intention for others. Having the desire for other's welfare is a preventive action to do harm to others. Third, learn to support others and not degrade nor demean. Fourth, learn to appreciate others' success. Be happy for what they have achieved in life.

When the above suggestion is practiced DeDiva or any person like her will always find her or his post and comment safe and free from malice.

Finally, Devina DeDiva is ought to have a public apology to all Filipinas and even to all Filipinos.
