Four cheap food to manage constipation

As I read some articles on the web on their solutions of constipation, it did not fit for me. I was following their suggestions but still constipation were insisting. It seemed that they made their article based on what they think and NOT on experience. One solution they offered was vegetable leaves. Sorry to say that it was NOT making any difference even taking them plentifully.

Okay, let's start with the cheap food to help manage constipation.

Sweet potato or "camote".
Sweet potato is one of the abundant root crop in the Philippines. It cost only 10 to 25 pesos per kilo. You can even buy it at 6 pesos per kilo during peak season. This is the best replacement of bread for your snack especially when cooked with oil and sugar. Of course, boiling it with water is a good option for diabetics and still taste delicious. Caution, eating too many of it might cause inevitable multiple farting.

Oats.
Oats are very effective food in relieving constipation. Even taking less water than required, with oats I find my bowel movement smooth and easy. So it is good when traveling far distant places or attending seminar where taking less water is needed to avoid intermittent disruption. Nowadays, oats are cheap as hot ordinary bread, and very available in grocery stores.

Papaya.
Though papaya is not always available but it is one of the very effective way to soften constipation. It is good to plant papaya of your own at your backyard on the elevated level because it is very sensitive to too much water.

Lacatan.
Lakatan is usually the preferred variety of banana in the Philippines. Not all bananas are as effective as lakatan in lessening constipation. I believe it is the most fibrous and sweetest banana variety of them all.

Water.
This is not food but I think I need to include it here because this is free and necessary. Though not really effective as compared to the four food mentioned above but still it can alleviate constipation. It is best to take one glass of water every hour if you are constipated. However, taking too many glasses of water is very uncomfortable at times when you are at work or travelling or having a meeting because of unavoidable intermittent urinating.

Other food for verification.
Other means to ease constipation below needs verification. I did not include them in the lists above because I have not tried them yet. So you may try to verify them yourself because they seemed fiborous. The first is the squash, very common and cheap too. Second is avocado. It is a seasonal fruit so difficult to try them when at times I get constipated. I believe it is of great help too because of the abundance fibers. If tried it yourself, make a comment below.
